Merritone Blake stays to listen to Gladdy Wax at Carnival 2006

28 August 2006

The great Jamaican Sound operator Winston 'Merritone' Blake was so taken with the might y clean as a whistle Gladdy Wax sound that he stayed for three hours to listen to some of the finest revival selections laid down by Gladdy and King Melody.

Portobello Road was once again ram jam with people form all over the world; all moving to the cleanest sound in the Carnival. No, we don't say it was the cleanest. The listeners where coming up and asking where this clarity was coming from; that this was the most heavyweight clear sound they had heard all day.

We presented what we believe is the true sound of Jamaica. Not just drum & bass (so called roots music) but the full spectrum of sounds from Ska through roots vocals from the 70's to the latest floor fillers. It was great to see friends old and new and to feel that we are giving the people what they want real Reggae music.
