Dennis Brown triumphs at Brixton Town Hall

03 February 2007

Where you there last night? Back in the day! Back in the Day? Who needs to talk about back in the day when you can have nights like this right now? Gladdy Wax met with the mighty Twelve Twelve and Cabbage man turned up a bit late. Dennis was played (and one or two friends) all night without a break. 4 hours of solid Dennis and 400 bodies moving, voices calling, singing and cheering. Sing along session to beat any. The Brown family was in attendance as was Merritone Blake Junior, Supa from Supatone and Lord Gelly.

If you haven't checked our sounds yet, and are sick of being told you are attending a revival dance, only to find the dance you are attending is no such thing, why not make the effort and check us out. We only play genuine revive from back in the day (and also good tunes from today) but make it relevant to right now. Gladdy's sound has gained a reputation for deep (and I mean deeeeep) round clear bass to rival (and surpass) any big dub sound.

You can catch Wassi 1 (Twelve Twelve) alongside Ras Digby (previously Sir Jessus sound) on Tuesday 6 February for a Bob Marley Birthday celebration down at Porkies wine bar 23-27 Sternhold Avenue Streatham Hill London SW2 4PA Revival to the Max. Check it.
